Few people outside of India realize that India is not a Hindu country!
This is specially true of Americans, generally so wise and full of goodwill. But going by their general level of awareness of the world, and more stunningly based on their exposure to the modern media even in this digital world, Americans simply assume or easily buy into the Hindu India notion. This takes on an even more canonical aura of a given in the framework of Hindu India versus Muslim Pakistan meme. What this does is fill the American minds with visions of tensions that don’t exist, and contrariwise to be blind to tensions that do exist.
The liberals laud Indian body politic for its pluralistic, open, multiparty system. The conservatives look to cheer the economic open market practices and increased access to investment and trade. All Americans happily will accept India as this exotic land of some very smart people who are at odds against nature and fellow man across the aisle in a genteel assembly. They all miss what Indians have known all along. Dr. Babu Suseelan writes:
”…for a long time, there has existed an implicit Marxist-Islamic alliance in India against Hindus. It operates in politics, and in acquiescence or implicitly in terrorism against Hindus. Leftist writers are free to attack Hindus, but they remain blind to the excesses of Jihadi Muslims. The Marxist-Islamic alliance is strong for a variety of reasons. Marxism and Islam are blind, non-compromising, totalitarian dogmas opposed to free thinking Hindus. Marxist-Islamic hatred against Hindu liberalism is neither logical or practical. The ghost of Marxism remains alive in different parts of India and its goal is to extend its power and influence over free spirited Hindus. The Marxist-Islamic alliance and their deadly hatred against Hindus survives in India because the majority never questioned it. Moreover, Marxist governments in Kerala and West Bengal never allow Hindus to channel their grievances through legal forms. The Marxist government uses state institutions for repression of Hindus.”
“The Marxists justify heinous crimes against Hindus as a necessary battle to destroy “old thought”, “old culture”, “old habits”, and “old customs”
“Hindus are facing existential threats similar to those faced in the 8thcentury from the invading Muslims. Indeed the danger today is worse because Hindus are now dominated by hostile groups. Hindus around the world should awake and courageously assert Hindu rights. Courage is not an emotion, it is an act of will. Hindus need to be proactive with the manner in which we achieve desired outcomes. Our denial, apathy, tolerance, pacifism and irrational defenses should not hamper our offensive abilities. Hindus have been on the defensive on multiple fronts. We must be on the offensive regardless of world opinion. If we continue to tolerate Marxist and Jihadi murder mayhem and their intolerant dogmas, we will not be able to achieve anything. We will be butchered and enslaved for ever.”
Really, is this realistic? Does Suseelan have a vision likely to fruition? More importantlly, why is everyone blind to such angst?
It has to that the peculiar history of the people and the land causes few casual observers to really look past the surface and see the roiling cauldron of strife and tension within, wrought by years of ideological, theological, and psychological warfare. The bickering had been going on for centuries, often smoothed over by superficial unity, always undercut by underlying abject suffering and only now coming to the fore, surfacing like a bubble of noxious energy in a fetid hot swamp.

The Radical Hindu paranoia is difficult to explain. Are our Muslim brethren really reproducing at such prodigious rate to render the Hindus in minority? Besides that logistically improbable fallacy, the other peeve is the centuries of hard time that the Persian conquerors gave our Hindu ancestors. So give it back to their progeny (and maybe they will stop procreating in a hurry?). Why not get better at it, and less cowardly and declare war on Iran, Afghanistan and all those other places where these conquerors came from in the first place? That would be a much more accurate solution to our problem. If it really is the Hindu Golden Age, why not stop going after soft targets and really prove what were made of?
